Emmalee, "I wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort"

Emmalee is a smiley, happy-go-lucky kind of girl. She is always looking for the next thing to giggle at and loves to spend time with her family! One of her favorite things to do is to watch lovable characters on television especially Elmo and Barney! Emmalee loves things that glow and light up, as you might tell if you simply looked at her toys! She also is a very social child and very interested in the activities her siblings are doing. Where she can’t always participate, she makes up for by paying utmost attention. While her medical condition has left her speechless, she has found many ways to get her point across! When her family found out she’d be granted a wish, there was no doubt in their mind that her ideal dream would be to go to Disney!! Upon arrival, Emmalee was overjoyed by the abundance of people, lights and music. Full of glee and giggles, Emmalee and her whole family got to meet new Disney friends, stroll around the parks, ride on lots of attractions and enjoy being with each other. Some of the highlights included meeting her favorite princesses Anna and Elsa and of course the lovable purple dinosaur Barney!!

Brynna, "I wish to have a playhouse"

Eleven-year-old Brynna is a caring girl who loves to cuddle and hug. She loves to always be out and about, trying new activities, and listening to music. But above all of this, Brynna loves to play with all her siblings! However, due to her medical condition, Brynna often finds herself at doctor’s appointments and inside her home where her body temperature can be monitored. When Brynna and her family found out she was eligible for a wish, a playhouse came to mind as a wonderful wish option. This way Brynna would be able to go in and out of the sun and have a comfortable place to play with all her siblings. Not only this, but the playhouse would be filled with books and entertaining activities for Brynna and her family! It would also be insulated and have a functioning air conditioner so that it can be utilized year-round. The wish couldn’t have come at a better time for Brynna and her family, because only a few months later, they used the playhouse as a place for Brynna to learn. Having to pull Brynna out of school, the playhouse worked as a perfect place for Brynna to continue to learn. “The playhouse gives her a schoolroom to spend her days,” said Brynna’s mom, Tammy, “learning at home in an environment more conducive to her.”

Antoine, "I wish to go to Walt Disney World® Resort"

Five-year-old Antoine loves to play make believe. He is often in and out of hospitals, so make believe, like playing superheroes, is a great way for him to continue to have a fun and playful childhood, even while surrounded by doctors. Even after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Antoine’s imagination continues to flourish. Surprisingly, he doesn’t think of doctors as the villains in his story, and when he’s not super-Antoine, he loves to play doctor! Other days, when jumping around seems like a hassle, Antoine spends his time learning about all sorts of animals! He is a big fan of tigers, zebras, and elephants! The key to becoming his best friend is to quiz him on animal facts. He loves to show off how much he knows. When he and his family found out that Antoine would have a wish granted, no place would allow his imagination to thrive quite like a magical trip to Disney! He could be a superhero one day and surround himself with incredible animals another! At Disney, the family was able to get fast passes and have a fun VIP experience. Throughout the week, the family was treated like royalty, and they were able to have fun and enjoy each other. It was an extraordinary bonding experience with no doctors or hospitals in sight. Only all the fun that Antoine could imagine materializing before him!

Madison, "I wished to go to Dublin, Ireland, and I did!"

Looking at Madison, a 17-year-old young lady, you wouldn’t know the long road she has traveled physically. Madison has been through a great ordeal with cystic fibrosis. In and out of treatments and numerous medications have been apart of her daily regimen for years.

When Madison found out about her opportunity to be part of Make-A-Wish® and that she was going to receive her one true wish, well she was beyond ecstatic. She immediately knew that she wanted to go to Ireland. One of the main reasons her choice was to go to Dublin, was because it was the birthplace of her grandfather and she is fascinated by the culture. She already had places and sights that she wanted to see.

Madison had many highlights from this memorable trip. Once they had arrived, Make-A-Wish® Ireland had someone waiting for their arrival. Airbnb also kindly helped provide them with a beautiful place to stay during their trip. Kathy, Madison’s mother, said that the tours were so amazing that Madison insisted on taking one back to back. At the Dublin Castle, Madison was given privileged treatment and even got to sit on the throne on the Throne room. She even got to see the behind the scene places such as the spiral staircases and the rooftops. Madison took amazing pictures that will help her keep these memories alive forever.

She loved learning about the history and culture given by the tour guides. “The tours were wonderful, but the really special part was the way they each talked to and spent time with Madi and the family. As if that was all they wanted to be doing,” said Kathy. Madison enjoyed this trip of a lifetime and it’s something she’ll remember forever!
